Sherburn Hungate Parents & Friends
Supporting the children of Sherburn Hungate School and their families
Our Mission
PFA Sherburn Hungate is a charity run by volunteers formed from parents, carers, grandparents, friends and associates of Sherburn Hungate primary school to raise money for the school.
We are dedicated to improving the lives of children in our community and providing them with the support they need to thrive. On this site, you will find information about our initiatives and events. Join us in our efforts to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community.
Who We Are
The PFA is run by six dedicated people who volunteer their time to support the school community
Together, along with other volunteers, we organise events, provide refreshments at school occasions and raise vital funds that help enhance the learning experience for all pupils. Every penny we raise goes straight back into the school.

Alex
Chair
Hello I'm Alex, current Chair of the PFA. I have 2 gorgeous kids at Hungate and I'm a local business owner.
I am a big advocate for building each other up and promoting positivity so we can all achieve anything we want.
In my role as Chair, I hope to ensure that we acheive great things for our school.

Bex
Vice Chair
Hi I'm Bex, PFA Vice Chair. We moved to Sherburn a few years ago and have two wild but wonderful children.
My passion is long distance running, preferably with lots of mud and hills involved!
I love being part of the PFA and being able to positively contribute towards the Hungate community.

Ami-Lou
Secretary
Hello I'm Ami. I'm the PFA Secretary and mummy to an amazing little boy who attends Hungate Primary.
I run a business with my partner and also have my own business. In addition to this, I am responsible for Regulatory Compliance for another company - so I like to be busy!
My passions are the outdoors and keeping animals such as chickens & horses.

Dawn
Treasurer
Hi. I'm Dawn, PFA Treasurer. Mummy to our fabulous daughter who is at Hungate and her cheeky younger brother.
Before having children I was a primary school teacher for many years. Now I am studying for the AAT Diploma in Accounting.
In my 'spare' time I enjoy running and wild swimming.
I love being involved with the PFA and helping the school community.

Libby
Teacher Representitive
Hi I'm Libby, I am very happy to be the Teacher Representative on the PFA.
I have been a primary school teacher for 8 years and currently teach in Year One at Sherburn Hungate Primary.
In my spare time I love animals and being with my friends and family.
I hope to be an effective liason between the PFA and the school and to provide positive and constructive support.

Gemma
School Representitive
My name is Gemma and I am School Representative for the PFA, working closely with Miss Soper (Libby).
I've been at Hungate since 2023 and have grown to love everything about our School. I'm passionate about making sure all of our pupils are safe and happy.
I have a little boy, my family is my absolute world and I want to continue to help the PFA in contributing to our community in which my little boy will be growing up in.

Helping Our School
In adddition to the above events, the PFA also provides refreshements at many school events throughout the year and takes part in other fundraising activities.
The funds raised help us to support classroom learning, improve school facilities and fund enrichment opportunities such as visiting pantomimes, outdoor learning experiences and other external educational providers and workshops.
Why it Matters
Our events don’t just raise money. They create memories.
From children dancing with their friends at discos to experiencing live performances and outdoor learning, the support of the PFA helps make school life richer, more exciting and more inclusive for everyone.
Our fundraising has helped provide vital school equipment, including bicycle racks and storage facilities. Your support, whether through volunteering, donating, or attending events, makes a real difference.
